PURUN IN EVERY CREATION

A Natural Resource, Woven into Livelihoods
PURUN BLACK SERIES

In the peatlands, purun plays an important role in the ecosystem—helping store carbon, retain moisture, and reduce the risk of peatland fires.

For women artisans living in villages around these peatlands, purun is also part of everyday life. Through their weaving skills, they turn this humble plant into beautiful creations that support their families and livelihoods.

Now, their craftsmanship becomes part of Du Anyam’s corporate gifts—connecting the beauty of nature with the hands and stories of the women who live alongside it.

Where Heritage Meets Contemporary Luxury

What happens when an age-old Indonesian craft is reimagined through a contemporary design lens?

The KOSA Collection brings the distinctive hexagonal kepitang weave of East Nusa Tenggara into modern luxury living. Created by women artisans and shaped in collaboration with Bika Living, traditional weaving meets refined wood craftsmanship across a collection of side tables and poufs.

The result is a quiet expression of Indonesian heritage—rooted in tradition, elevated through design, and made for contemporary spaces.

From Craft to New Possibilities

Across Solor Island, the future of a child can begin with something as simple as a woven creation. Through the “Be The Strength in You: Berdaya Lewat Berbagi” campaign, BLP Beauty and Du Anyam partnered with women artisans in East Nusa Tenggara to bring more than 1,000 Lipstick Sleeves and 200+ Moon Pouches to life.

The collaboration goes beyond the products. It has helped provide 32 scholarships for children on Solor Island, creating opportunities for them to learn, grow, and dream bigger.

When women’s craftsmanship creates opportunities for the next generation, every piece becomes part of something bigger.

THE STORY BEHIND MAMA NOGO’S JOURNEY

A Quiet Voice. A Powerful Craft.

Kristina Nogo Aran, known as Mama Nogo, is a weaver from Liwo Village who is non-speaking. She joined Du Anyam in 2024, where an inclusive environment and continued support have given her the opportunity to turn her weaving skills into meaningful work and an independent source of income.

Her journey is a reminder that potential does not depend on how we communicate. With the right access, opportunity, and support, every woman can find her own way to create, contribute, and thrive.

Through inclusive opportunities and access to markets, Du Anyam connects women artisans with new possibilities to grow their skills, livelihoods, and aspirations.

Because when a craft is given the opportunity to grow, its impact can reach far beyond what is woven—empowering the women behind it to keep growing, creating, and shaping a better future.
