This year, Indonesia has had the honor of hosting an international conference known as G20. Never before hosted in Southeast Asia, G20 is an intergovernmental forum designed to address major global economic issues. Specifically, this year, the discussion focuses on three main areas: global health architecture, digital transformation, and sustainable energy transition. Then on this chance, Du Anyam had the opportunity to show various Indonesia’s local souvenirs to invited guests from other countries.

Each year, it is imperative for the host nation to display its culture; one of the ways Indonesia did this is through unique local souvenirs. They showcased their cultural diversity through beautiful, one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

As a prominent social enterprise based in Indonesia, Du Anyam was honored to partake in G20 by creating souvenirs for the conference. As an Indonesian enterprise, Du Anyam can supply unique, eco-friendly items that share the story of Indonesia with the G20.  Moreover, they both intersect in their values and goals.

Du Anyam has been focusing on the aspect of digital transformation. Because of their work in remote areas, bringing technology, especially during the pandemic, has always been a challenge. However, their success in doing so sets an example for communities of similar natures to do so. For example, connecting women weavers with basic technology such as phones to stay connected throughout the pandemic has increased productivity and learning overall. Being able to remain connected with rural artisans has allowed for incredible growth for the enterprise and the communities they partner with over the past few years. Further integrating technology by installing solar panels in their weaving center, Du Anyam has managed to bridge the gap between modern technology and traditional craft for sustainable energy. Importantly, they’ve also connected communities digitally allowing them to grow rapidly into the digital era and opening up the door to more opportunities.

As a proud Indonesian enterprise, Du Anyam was excited to introduce Indonesia’s local souvenirs craftsmanship to a global conference. Hopefully, with their leadership, they have inspired many more organizations in Indonesia to follow in their footsteps.
