Retail Export Manager

- Export Strategy Development: Develop and implement an export strategy that aligns with the retail business’s goals and targets specific international markets.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with export regulations, tariffs, and trade policies in different countries to ensure legal compliance. Obtain and maintain necessary licenses and permits for export. - Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas customers, distributors, and partners to ensure a smooth export process and promote long-term business growth.
- Order Processing: Manage export orders, including order entry, tracking, and fulfillment. Ensure orders are accurate, and the required documentation is complete.
Logistics and Shipping: Oversee the logistics of shipping products to international destinations. Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to optimize shipping routes and minimize costs. - Documentation: Prepare and review export documentation, such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading. Ensure all required documents are accurate and submitted on time.
- Quality Control: Ensure that exported products meet international quality and safety standards. Implement quality control processes as necessary.
- Inventory Management: Manage export inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing carrying costs.
- Cost Control: Monitor export-related expenses, negotiate with service providers, and identify cost-saving opportunities in the export process.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and demand fluctuations in international markets. Adjust export strategies as needed.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the export process, including currency exchange rate fluctuations, geopolitical factors, and supply chain disruptions.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on export performance, including sales, revenue, and expenses. Use data analysis to make informed decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, international trade, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in export management or a related role in the retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using export management software and Microsoft Office applications.
